Isabella finishes second in Mustang Invitational Tournament

Isabella’s volleyball team finished second in their Invitational Tournament on Saturday, falling to tournament champion McAdory in three sets, 30-28, 11-25, 15-7.

The Mustangs defeated LAMP (25-15, 25-21), Akron (25-13, 25-15) and Horseshoe Bend (25-10, 25-13) earlier in the tournament.

“I think we definitely showed improvement from last Saturday,” IHS coach Glen Graham said. “We showed consistency all day. I think we’re finding our identity. We played up to our No. 6 ranking all day. Game 2 against McAdory was the best game we’ve played all season.”

Landy Griffith finished with 21 kills, six aces and 11 digs in four tournament matches.

Erika Brascome had 19 kills, three blocks and five aces; Unique Robinson had 18 kills and six blocks; Kacie Adams had four kills, 31 assists and six aces; Caley Booth had five aces and 11 digs; and Alma Contreras had six aces and seven digs.

Griffith and Contreras were named to the all-tournament team.
