Charles Erskine Robinson, 83, of Clanton, passed away on Sept. 6 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Monday, Feb. 24, 1930 in Chilton County, the son of the late Samuel Monroe Robinson and the late Mavis Pauline Littleton Robinson.

He was a dump truck driver.

Surviving are his daughter, Deborah Dale (Wade) of Clanton; son, Charles Robinson of Clanton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Lamar Robinson of Leesville, La., Branch Robinson of San Antonio, Texas and Chester Robinson of Clanton; sisters, Sarah Hartin of Montgomery and Libby McKee of Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Hamilton, brother, Sammie Robinson and brother, Ralph Robinson.

Friends were received from 9:30-10:30 on Sept. 9 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services were held on Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at Collins Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.
