James Gregory Jones

James Gregory Jones, 65, of Verbena, passed away on July 23 at his residence.

He was born in East Tallassee on May 9, 1948, the son of the late James Robert Jones and the late Velma Lois Downs Jones.

He was a former retail sales clerk. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp in Vietnam.

He is survived by his brother, Buck Hall (Billie) of Wetumpka; sister, Fay Harvey (Jack) of Pensacola, Fla.; uncle, Charles Jones of Tenn.; aunt, Ethel Welch of Pensacola, Fla.; special cousin, Pete Perkins (Cathy) of Tallasee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be July 27 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bethsalem Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.
