Jimmie Ruth Dobbs, 88, of Clanton, passed away on July 10 at her residence.

She was born on Saturday, May 9, 1925, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Acie Lawrence Smith and the late Viola Jones Smith.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are son, Joseph R. Dobbs III and daughter-in-law, Sue P. Dobbs, both of Clanton; granddaughter, Alicia Dobbs of Birmingham; three step-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends were received from 6-8 p.m. on July 11 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held on July 12 at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.

The family requests no flowers.
