Bethany Baptist Church

To open our service, Chris Knight sang “I Can’t Even Walk.” Bro. Steve used Mark 10:13-16 in his sermon. In this scripture, parents brought their children to Jesus. The desire of parents should be for God to bless their children. In this instance, Jesus’ disciples rebuked the parents, but Jesus loves children and is never too busy. He told his disciples not to forbid the children from approaching him, but to allow them to come. He went on to say that unless we become as a child in faith and trust, with an attitude of humility, we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.

Sunday night, following our monthly business meeting, our pastor continued a study of the Holy Spirit; specifically, sins against the Holy Spirit. Christians should strive to avoid lying and tempting the Holy Spirit, and grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit.

Prayer list: Betty Biggs, the family of James Bixler, Doris and Verdie Glenn, Bro. Danny Jones, Billie Neeley, Ron Peppers, Grace and Elwyn Robinson, Elzie Sanders, Travis Swift and Glenda Wallace.

See you Sunday!
