Margrette Tesseneer Dodd, 90, of Clanton and formerly of Forestdale, passed away on May 28.

She was retired from Birmingham Sash and Door Company with 35 years of service, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was well known for her delicious homemade bread, cakes, pies, candies and especially by her grandchildren for her chocolate chip cookies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Garvin Dodd; parents, L.H. and Nellie Tesseneer; three brothers, Cecil, Hubert and Jack; two sisters, Lorene and Juanita.

She is survived by her daughter, Nella Mullinax (Sammie); grandchildren, Gilbert H. Abernathy (Vanessa), Herbert L. Abernathy (Lita), Larry Mullinax (Laurie) and Mike Mullinax; great-grandchildren, Justin Kalli, Kassidy, Hannah, Karson, Gabe, Rylee, Joseph, Amanda, Matt, Amber, Chelsea, Gage and Anna.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on May 30 at Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens. Rick O’Brien officiating. Visitation was on Thursday one hour prior to service. Bell Funeral Home Forestdale directing.
