William Claude “Billy” Maddox

William Claude “Billy” Maddox, 91, of Clanton passed away on May 15, in Alexander City.

He was born on Wednesday, July 13, 1921 in Chilton Count, the son of the late Fayett Maddox and the late Cora Branch Maddox.

He was a retired storeowner in retail sporting good sales, The Sports Shop in Clanton.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Rockett Maddox of Clanton; son, Bill Maddox (Melinda); two daughters, Beth Dozier of Chelsea and Claudia Abernathy (Bill) of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on May 17 at 2 p.m. at Clanton City Cemetery with the Rev. Matt DeBord officiating.

Interment will follow in Clanton City Cemetery in Clanton.

Family requests no flowers.
