The weather is warming, flowers are blooming and grass is growing.

And Chilton County athletes are preparing to play a little…football?

Spring varsity football practice started on April 29, and several local teams have spring exhibition games scheduled for next week.

Thorsby and Billingsley will get the spring jamboree season started with a game at 6 p.m. on May 14 at Billingsley.

Chilton County will visit Holtville on May 17, and Jemison will visit West Point High School on the same day.

Isabella has an intrasquad game scheduled for 1 p.m. on May 17.

Neither Maplesville nor Verbena has scheduled a spring game.
