Calvary Independent Baptist Church

Sunday morning’s service included a message from John 5:7-12 on this question: Do you want just to crawl as a babe in Christ, or do you really desire to walk? How is your standing position? Are you saved? Do you have a steady position? Are you strong in the Lord? If so, what about your walk with the Lord; do you have a straightforward position? We all should have a desire to be made whole by the Lord, and to be committed to whatever his plan and purpose is for our lives.

Sunday night’s message was taken from Ephesians 4, along with other passages, about “Paradise Moved.”

The place where the Old Testament saints went when they died was referred to as “Abraham’s Bosom.” At that time, it was located in the heart of the earth. When Christ died for the sins of the world, he bore our sins in his body. For that short time, he was forsaken of God, who cannot look upon sin. He deposited the sins in hell, took the keys to hell and the grave, preached to the saints in captivity and rose victorious from the grave. Today, we who are saved when we leave this life, go to Paradise, which is above, and immediately into the very presence of our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We want to invite you to a baptismal service on April 28 at the end of our 10 a.m. worship service. We also want to invite you to visit and worship with us during any of our services. This Wednesday night, we will be starting a study in the Book of Daniel. We are located south of Clanton, past Dollar General, off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive. Bro. Kenneth Moates gave the devotion from Ephesians 6: We don’t just battle flesh and blood; our enemy is principalities.

Bro. Wayne Barnett sang “Three Hebrew Boys,” and blessed the church with a wonderful song. Bro. Harris preached from 2 Samuel 22: You have to go to heaven God’s way. After you are saved, the way you act is what counts. Be true to the word of God, and walk in Christ daily.
