Samaria Baptist Church

“Oh Glorious Day,” our choir sang as Don Fisher narrated the story of Jesus. Darrell Willis and Jeannie Mims sang, “There Rose a Lamb.” Our children sang and performed the story with symbols of the glorious story of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. What an awesome day in the house of the Lord celebrating Easter. Emily Jones, Ashlyn Willis, Jack Fitch and Lindsey Popwell sang our children’s song.

Our pastor took his message from Matthew 28:1-10: Jesus paid a debt that we would still owe had it not been for him. He changed the world and made it possible for all to be saved if we come to him. The world has the opportunity to avoid hell and live in the great hope of heaven, but so many will not find him because they do not seek him. His death and resurrection are proof that love is stronger than hate.

Light is stronger than darkness, and all good things of God are stronger than demonic counterparts. Satan may win some battles on earth, and unfortunately, he may win some souls, but God will win the greatest battle, and in the end, Satan and all who serve him will be cast into hell.

Jesus Christ can render peace, where there is nothing but destruction. We are not an accident of nature. We are here because God has a purpose for us, and it is our place to learn this purpose and live for him. We are the creations of a loving God. Make him your savior today by repenting and accepting him into your life and heart. Let him guide your every step and decision. He brings love when others despise and hate you.

Prayer continues for Tucker Jones and our military on this Easter day. May the peace that passes all understanding be real in the hearts of all who seek the Lord.

May God bless you. Please visit us at Samaria. Jesus is Lord; meet him here.
