A wreck causing both southbound lanes just north of Interstate 65 Exit 219 to be closed this afternoon has reopened.

Jemison Fire Chief John Dennis said the lanes had to be closed for an emergency helicopter to land.

Dennis did confirm one person was airlifted to UAB.

Jemison Police Chief Shane Fulmer had originally reported at 4:10 p.m. that both southbound lanes of traffic were closed and traffic was being redirected through Calera.
