Verbena man killed in wreck on Highway 31

A Verbena man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Sunday on Highway 31.

Arthur A. Rigsby, 79, was killed when the 2008 Buick Lacrosse he was driving hydroplaned, ran off the road and struck a tree, according to a news release from Alabama State Troopers.

The wreck occurred at 12:20 p.m., six miles south of Clanton, according to the release.

No additional information was provided.

Troopers continue to investigate the wreck.
