Center Hill Baptist Church

“Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome in This Place” is the title of a song that seemed so appropriate for our services this past Sunday. We were so very blessed to have “Signs of Mercy” perform during our worship service. The smiles and enthusiasm of these young people overwhelmed our congregation. It was almost as if you could see the Spirit moving throughout the church.

Not a coincidence, Bro. Jeff’s message was “How To Have An Effective Personal Ministry.”

This group of special young people certainly has an effective ministry. As Bro. Jeff said, “God saves us to serve, not to sit.” If you are seeking a personal ministry, you have to be faithful. You have to exalt Christ, and certainly be available. We cannot minister to people if we don’t pray. It is not selfish to pray for yourself. We must repent daily to be fruitful. Then, as Peter, we must be free of prejudice.

The youth yard sale was an overwhelming success. A bake sale is planned for May.

Ladies, don’t forget our luncheon on May 4. The next day, Sunday, May 5, will be the beginning of our revival.

The Discovery Clubs of Alabama will have a representative sharing with us on April 21.

You’ll have the opportunity to hear Sammy Gilbreath at the Senior Celebration at Union Grove on April 30. Please make plans to attend. Full Moon BBQ will serve lunch.

Remember those in our church who are critically ill, those facing surgery and the lost.

Rocky Mount Methodist Church

With much anticipation, we looked forward to Easter Sunday. As Easter Sunday passed, our pace slowed a bit. We hope you have not let Easter slip from your mind and heart. Easter is there for us every day, not just one special Sunday. Thomas may have doubted the resurrected Jesus, but because of that doubt, we are given many signs that Christ did rise from the dead.

How often do you turn your car into the parking lot of the Krispy Kreme store and see the “Hot Now” light flashing? The length of the lines and the excitement at that store is incredible when people see that sign. Are you all talk and no action when it comes to your Christianity? We are the light of the world, not Krispy Kreme! We’re more nourishing than that sugar-coated bread treat. Are people flocking to you as you shine? Is your “Hot Now for Jesus” light flashing? Join us and find out how you can get plugged in again.

We hope you are remembering to catch our Sunday sermon on WKLF-FM 95.5 each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. This is a great way to hear a good sermon from your car, your office, or the comfort of your home. We welcome your calls at 688-2204, and we invite you to worship with us on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings and Wednesday evenings.
