Chilton County High School’s girls tennis team defeated Pleasant Grove, 8-1, on Monday at George Ward Park in Birmingham.

Singles winners were Ada Ruth Huntley (8-5), Mary Colby Kelley (8-1), Anna Bearden (8-2), Jessica Morgan (8-2) and Caitlyn Smith (8-1).

Doubles winners were the combinations of Huntley/Smith (8-4), Anna Adams/Bearden (8-3) and Kelley/Morgan (8-6).

The CCHS girls and boys play Paul Bryant on Thursday at Clanton City Park, Central-Tuscaloosa on April 8 at home, McAdory on April 9 away, Prattville on April 11 away.

The Tigers’ section tournament begins April 16 (girls) and April 17 (boys) at Walker High School.
