Shirley Faye Connell, age 85 of Clanton, passed away on March 1, 2013 at Hatley Health Care.

She was born on Tuesday, June 14, 1927 in Jemison, daughter of the late Otis Elza Gray and the late Martha Laverle Campbell Gray.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, John Wade (Terri B.) Connell of Clanton; daughter, Martha (Michael) Gothard of Clanton; grandsons, John Gothard of Clanton, Andrew Gothard of Miami, Fla., Patrick Connell of Clanton; sisters, Floya Satterwhite of Hueytown and Jean Horton of Springville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester B. Connell.

Friends were received on March 1 from 2-3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, March 2 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Andrew Gothard and the Rev. Matt Debord officiating.

Interment will follow at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
