Irene W. Smitherman, age 91 of Clanton, passed away on Feb. 26, 2013.

She was born on Friday, Sept. 9, 1921 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Bunk Porter and the late Ola Willis Porter.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her son, Ricky (Anita) Smitherman of Clanton; granddaughter, Hope (Wade) Calfee of Clanton; grandsons, Erick (Kelly) Smitherman of Clanton; Scott Smitherman of Clanton, Todd (Jennifer) Smitherman of Clanton; six great-grandchildren; sister, Elberta Ray of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Turner Watley, Kinard Gillespie and John Smitherman; brother, Clyde Porter; sister, Pauline Liveoak; sister, Lena Bell Pate and sister, Afalee Speight.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at First Assembly of God.

Services will be held Saturday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Randy Reed officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel No. 1 Cemetery in Thorsby.
