Jack Garner Parris

Jack Garner Parris, age 79, of Clanton passed away on Feb. 17, 2013.

He attended Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Clanton. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge of Clanton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force SAC. He was an electrician by trade, a former firefighter and a certified firefighter instructor. He was a former volunteer for St. Vincent’s East who loved to sing, never met a stranger and was known as “dude” to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda DeFreese Parris; sister, Carolyn Parris Smith of Gaffney, S.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held on Thursday, Feb. 21, at noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation was an hour prior to services. Burial followed at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
