Phillip David Bennett

Phillip David Bennett, age 55, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 9, 2013, after a brave battle with a long illness.

He was a firefighter for 30 years, most recently with Pleasant Grove Fire and Rescue and Chelsea Fire and Rescue.

Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Duane Bennett Sr.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Debrah Bennett; stepsons Zachary and Brandon Tonkins; his mother, Marie Landmon, and stepfather, Ed Landmon; his brothers, Jay Bennett (Cindy), Vince Bennett (LeeAnn), Wayne Landmon; his sister, Becky Grega (Drew); and an array of nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind an abundance of friends and his fire and rescue family.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:30–7 p.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood with burial immediately following at Union Springs Baptist Church in Chilton County.
