CCHS tennis girls win first matches of season

Chilton County High School’s girls tennis team began its season Tuesday with a 9-0 sweep over visiting Wetumpka.

All six of the CCHS singles players were victorious: Ada Ruth Huntley (10-3), Anna Adams (10-5), Mary Colby Kelley (10-1), Anna Bearden (10-4), Jessica Morgan (10-2) and Caitlyn Smith (10-1).

The doubles teams of Huntley/Smith (10-5), Adams/Bearden (10-5) and Kelley/Morgan also won.

The Tigers girls play their next match Feb. 12 at home against Holtville.

The Chilton boys play their first match of the season on Feb. 14 against Demopolis.
