Loritta Knight Yates Leonard, age 52 of Verbena, passed away on Jan. 21, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born in Chilton County on March 3, 1961, the daughter of the late Gene Knight and Ethel Dooley Knight.

She was a truck driver.

She is survived by: son, Russell (Laura) Yates of Verbena; son, Kevin (Ashley McGee) Calfee of Clanton; daughter, Carla Barrett of Prattville; nine grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Jonette) Latham of Coopers; brother, Allen Kent Knight of Pensacola; sister, Judy (Dean) Holley of Pensacola; sister, Bonnie (Ricky) Yates of Clanton; mother, Ethel Dean Knight of Pensacola; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by: father, Gene Knight; brother, Ricky Knight; and grandchildren, Cole and Zander Yates.

The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the home of Russell Yates. Please contact the family for further details.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
