Dorothy Virginia Minor

Dorothy Virginia Minor, age 76 of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 17, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

She was born on Sept. 29, 1936, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Exer Washington Blackmon and the late Rosie Blankenship Blackmon.

She was retired from a sewing plant.

She is survived by: five sons, Lyn Minor of Rockford, Danny Minor of Verbena, Donny Minor of Bessemer, Charles Minor of Deatsville, Tim Minor of Birmingham; three daughters, Diane Easterling of Clanton, Sue Cleckler of Thorsby, Teresa Mims of Clanton; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and half-sister Ida Bass of Clanton.

Friends were received on Friday, Jan. 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Thurman Cleckler officiating.

Interment will follow in Pinedale Assembly of God in Clanton.
