James Edwin Johnson, 80, of Clanton died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1932, in Chilton County, son of the late Bernie O. Johnson and the late Gertie Baker Johnson.

He was a transportation supervisor.

Surviving are wife, Marie Johnson of Clanton; son, Donny (Terry) Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Symanthia (Jerry) Johnson of Clanton; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and sister, Bettie J. Landers of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie O. and Gertie Johnson.

Friends will be received from 5–8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.
