David C. Dunn

David C. Dunn, age 93, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Englewood Health Care Facility in Monroeville.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1919.

Dunn was a native of Monroe County and lived in Uriah. He was a former resident of Evergreen and Verbena.

He worked with the State of Alabama Highway Department. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was also a lifetime member of the Alabama Peace Officers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Daniel Dunn of Uriah; his sons, Kenneth R. Dunn of Jemison, Etha A. “Bill” Dunn of Uriah, C. Dale Dunn of Clanton and Joseph W. Dunn of Uriah; his daughter, Barbara D. McCord of Dora; three sisters, Edith Williams of Uriah, Willie B. Caylor of Evergreen and Ella Faire House of Uriah; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Dunn and the Rev. Walter Sheffield officiating.

Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
