Mountain Springs Church

Services started Sunday, Dec. 30 with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “I Love My Savior Too,” “There’s Power in the Blood,” “This World is Not My Home,” and “Where the Soul Never Dies.”

Bro. Rickey Bice gave a devotion from Proverbs 19:22-23. All the things we have on this earth will not make us as happy as he will.

After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn, “I’ll Be Satisfied” and Mrs. Sherrie Williams sang, “Washed all my Sins Away.”

Bro. Tim Henry preached from 2 Chronicles 12 about when we do our best, we need to give God all of the glory. Anytime you offer God less than your best, you’re offering him brass instead of gold. Is God getting your best?

Sunday night’s service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns “Jesus is Coming Soon,” “Camping in Canaan’s Land,” and “Oh, I want to See Him.”

Bro. Ashley Bice gave a devotion from Colossians 3:22-24 on God should be our motivation. What motivates you in your life?

Bro. Tim Henry preached from Psalms 19. The wisdom of God, having a good name, trials of our faith, the word of God and the blood of Jesus are all better than having gold. If we keep all of these things within us, we shall be a very rich person through Christ.

We hope you all had a happy new year and we want to encourage you this year to have a true passion for Christ and become the best you can be for him!

Jackson Chapel Church

Bro. Horace Wyatt got the morning worship service started off with “Love Lifted Me” and “The Gloryland Way.” Bro. Dennis Smith blessed us with a beautiful song titled “The Master of the Sea.” Bro. Dennis’ text came from Romans 8:28-39: God is with us every day of our lives, but in order for us to be prosperous, we’ve got to get away from sin-filled lives. We can’t live for both Jesus Christ and Satan, so we’ve got to make up our minds who we want to serve. We are not promised tomorrow; we need to be sure we are ready to go, so that when our time comes, we will get to enter into the joys of heaven for all eternity.

The service ended with several coming to pray.

Bro. Horace Wyatt got the evening service started off with “More About Jesus,” “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” and “I’ll Be Satisfied.” Bro. Dennis’ text came from Psalm 30:1-5: If we want God to bestow his blessings on our lives, we have to put him first in everything we do. We need to dedicate ourselves to the things of Jesus Christ, despite what happens in our lives, and realize that our faith in him will bring us through the trials that come our way. We can’t live for Jesus Christ with sin in our lives, so we need to dedicate ourselves. This way, we can be in God’s favor and receive all the blessings he has for our lives.
