New Year’s will affect businesses, services

Local municipalities, schools, banks and businesses will be closed New Year’s Day on Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Some places will have abbreviated hours on New Year’s Eve on Monday, Dec. 31.

The Chilton County Courthouse will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 31 and will be closed Jan. 1.

The Clanton Post Office will be open until 3 p.m. Monday, and all post offices in the county will be closed Tuesday.

Clanton City Hall will be closed Tuesday, but regular garbage pickup will continue every day next week with no changes.

Jemison City Hall will be closed Monday and Tuesday, and trash pickup will be Wednesday.

Thorsby Town Hall will be closed Tuesday, and Tuesday’s trash pickup will take place Wednesday.

Maplesville Town Hall will be closed Tuesday, and Tuesday’s garbage will be picked up Wednesday.

All branches of Peoples Southern Bank will be closed at noon Monday and all day Tuesday.

All local branches of Regions Bank will be closed at 2 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday.

Both Peachtree Bank locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and closed all day Tuesday.

Chilton County schools employees will return Wednesday, Jan. 2, and students will return Thursday, Jan. 3.
