Mary E. Edwards, 83, of Clanton died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Bibb Medical Center in Centreville.

She was born on Thursday, April 18, 1929, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Fonza Headley and the late Mattie Bone Headley.

She was a parts inspector in the automotive industry.

Surviving are: five daughters, Shirley Faye (Carl) Wilson of Clanton, Mary Catherine (Larry) Sillas of Deatsville, Debra Sue (Ronald) Wallace of Maplesville, Mattie Melinda (Dwayne) Adams of Clanton, Teressa Darlene (Randy) Allen of Clanton; three sons, Carl Melvin (Georgia) Edwards of Colorada Springs, Colo., Julius Edwards of Clanton, Randy (Sheila) Edwards of Clanton; a host of grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Oneal Edwards.

Friends were received from 5–8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Melton Short and the Rev. Kelvin Smitherman officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery in Clanton.
