Panthers best THS rebels

Both Jemison varsity basketball teams defeated Thorsby last week.

The boys won 55-31, and the girls won 45-31.

Julian Lucas led the boys with 11 points and five rebounds, and Kornegay had 10 points. John Underwood posted eight points and eight rebounds, and Dylan Higgins also scored eight points.

Griffin (16 points) and Vinzant (12 points) again paced the girls team, while Morgan Lucas added eight points.

After the win, the JHS boys are now 10-3 overall and 3-0 in area play. The girls’ mark stands at 6-6 and 2-1.

Both Jemison teams’ next region game will be on the road at Calera Jan. 4.
