Two vehicles were involved in a wreck Friday morning off Highway 31 in Clanton.

Three taken to hospital after wreck (updated)

Three people were transported to Shelby Medical Center by ambulance from the scene of a two-vehicle wreck off Seventh Street North in Clanton on Friday.

Jessie Waldrop, 83, and his wife, Annie Waldrop, 78, were in one vehicle, and LeQueena Jackson, 31, and Herbert Studamire, 54, were in the other vehicle.

Both vehicles were travelling south on U.S. Highway 31 when they swerved to avoid a third vehicle that was turning.

They collided in the grass across from Quick Stop near L&M Paint and Body.

Annie Waldrop, Jackson and Studamire were taken to the hospital for routine treatment.

Clanton Police Officer David Hicks said nobody sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Clanton Fire Department, Clanton Police Department, RPS and Care Ambulance responded to the call at 9:53 a.m. Friday.
