Holiday will close municipalities, affect garbage pick-up

The schedule for garbage pick-up and governmental offices in Chilton County will differ with the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Clanton garbage carts need to be left out Dec. 24-28 until trash is picked up. Clanton street and sanitation superintendent Dale Collins said everyone needs to bag up extra garbage to keep it from blowing away.

“We may be behind schedule but we will come and pick up the carts so just leave them out,” Collins said.

Clanton City Hall will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 through Wednesday, Dec. 26 for Christmas.

Maplesville’s Town Hall will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25; and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

Garbage will be picked up Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Jan 2 instead of Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Jemison City Hall will close Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25 and will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26. Trash will be picked up on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

Thorsby Town Hall will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25.

Trash will be picked up on Monday, Dec. 24.

The Chilton County Courthouse will be closed Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25.

All Chilton County Schools will break on Friday, Dec. 21 and will resume classes Thursday, Jan. 3.
