Lois Florence Nelson, 80, of Clanton died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at her residence in Clanton.

She was born on Thursday, Sept. 15, 1932 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Lindsey Nickolson and the late Sadie Minor Nickolson.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, the Rev. Frank Nelson of Clanton; four daughters, Shirley (Wesley) Sansom of Clanton, Sandra (Mike) Harrell of Hope Hull, Debbie (Jerry) Harkness of Montgomery, Lois Diane (George) Williams of Billingsley; two sons, Don Nelson of Clanton, Jerry (Ella) Nelson of Clanton; sister, Eloyce Easterling of Clanton; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: father, Lindsey Nickolson; mother, Sadie Nickolson; sister, Nell Franks; brother, J.E. Nickolson; grandson, Nick Spencer; and granddaughter, Cassandra Spencer.

Friends will be received from 5–8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Brand officiating.

Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
