Samaria Baptist Church

Our prayers continue for Mr. Loyd Willis, the family of Jean Arthur and Bro. Charles during his illness, which prevented him from being with us today. Bro. Melton Short shared the Bible teaching with us today.

On Nov. 18, Bro. Charles’ message came from 2 Timothy 4:6-8: A life well-lived is a life full of obedience to God.

Our message was about Paul and his preparation for death. He had fought a good fight, and he knew his impending death was at hand. We have to obey the things God conveys to us in his word. We are responsible for using the things we learn from the Bible. Paul was ready, regardless of what came his way. His faith sustained him, and his hope was in the Lord. Paul wrote the books of the Bible under the influence of the Holy Spirit. He won souls and followed the leadership God provided for him. We are born again. We need to let it show. We are called to be examples of the love of Christ and to let the world know who we serve.

Bro. Floyd sang “How Long Has It Been.” Jeannie Mims sang “What a Day That Will Be.” Our Christmas program for the adult choir will be the morning of Dec. 16, and the children’s play will be performed at 5 p.m. that day, with a Christmas dinner to follow.

Be ye therefore ready for we know not when the Lord, Jesus Christ, will return. This is real. God bless you. May you have a wonderful Christmas season with love and joyous celebration.

Our prayers continue for the Garris family in the death of a grandchild and son.

Happy birthday to Tim Popwell and Ashlyn Willis. Happy anniversary to Gayle and Horace Cleckler.
