A new Pizza Hut location will be opening in Jemison on Dec. 13. The restaurant will be the second Pizza Hut to open in Chilton County with the other business located in Clanton.

Clanton store manager Denene Stoudenmire said the hiring process has already started for those interested in working at the Jemison location and those interested in an application should either come by the Clanton location or online at www.pizzahut.com.

“There will be some of our Clanton employees going and helping out at the Jemison location when it is open,” Stoudenmire said.

The Jemison Pizza Hut location will be located at 24557 Highway 31 near the Subway restaurant and is part of several fast food restaurants in Jemison including Jacks, McDonald’s and Subway.

Jemison Mayor Eddie Reed said the Pizza Hut opening is a tremendous impact on Jemison’s economy.

“We support Pizza Hut wholeheartedly,” Reed said. “Jemison relies heavily on businesses in the community and it is a wonderful thing to have it open.”

Reed said he had already been receiving calls from residents in the city inquiring as to when the restaurant would be open.

“We try to be very pro-active in inviting businesses to our area and we are very excited to have this restaurant come to our area,” Reed said.
