Jean B. Arthur

Jean B. Arthur, 82, of Isabella and long time resident of Chelsea, went to live with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Von L. Arthur Sr.

She is survived by her son, Gip Arthur; daughter, Chris Dorough and husband William; and son, Von L. Arthur Jr. and wife Rebecca.

Grandchildren include Rachel Watts and husband David; Caleb Dorough and wife Breana; Devin Brooks; Von L. Arthur III; and Jessie Arthur.

Great-grandchildren are Ainsley Watts, Brook Watts and Jaida Dorough.

She is also survived by her brother, Charlie Billingsley, and wife Jeannie of Houston, Tex.; sister Jo Newson and husband Charlie of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Marti Billingsley of Birmingham; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

For many years she owned and managed the Kountry Kubbard in Harpersville before answering a calling to work with mentally challenged adults, first in Montgomery, then many years at Shelby Chilton Mental Health Center from which she retired last year at the age of 81.

She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, “memaw” and mother-in-law, and a dear friend to many.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
