One killed in single-vehicle wreck on I-65

The driver of a tractor-trailer died overnight after his vehicle left the roadway and struck an overpass on Interstate 65, according to an Alabama State Troopers press release.

The wreck occurred about 12:35 a.m. Thursday four miles north of Clanton.

Richard Vernie Morrison, 58, of Theodore was killed. No other vehicles were involved.

Morrison was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release.

No more information was immediately available. Troopers continue to investigate.
