Panthers win two at tournament

Jemison’s girls won two games in the Highway 31 Shootout on Nov. 17.

The Panthers topped Goshen 41-38 in overtime.

Neither team outscored the other by more than one point in each of the regulation periods, but JHS scored eight points to Goshen’s five in OT.

Laura Vinzant paced the Panthers with 14 points.

Zanquese Johnson scored 10 points, and both India Satterfield and Shelby Griffin had nine points.

The JHS girls also defeated Parrish, 40-27.

Jemison led 25-11 at halftime and never looked back.

Johnson had 15 points in that contest, and Vinzant had 10 points.

Thorsby lost two games in the tournament, 41-39 to Goshen and 29-19 to Holt.
