Laura Mae Hammock

Laura Mae Hammock, 86, of Clanton died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Thursday, Dec. 17, 1925 in Chilton County, daughter of the late John Wiley Cooper and the late Mattie Hawkins.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Judy Hammock Anderson of Clanton; two sons, Paul S. (Edith) Hammock of Thorsby, Charles E. (Cherryl) Hammock of Josephine; five grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Carl Cooper of Birmingham, Robert M. Cooper of Birmingham; and sister, Ester Blackwell of Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Hammock and daughter, Donna Kay Hammock.

Friends will be received from 6–8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Drinkwater officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
