Vernon Levon Barrett Jr., 62, of Stanton died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.

He was born on Monday, May 8, 1950 in Dallas County, son of the late Vernon Levon Barrett Sr. and the late Ernestine Ferguson Barrett.

He was a truck driver.

Surviving are his daughter, Dena (Alan) Smith of Gallion; two sons, Robert (Christina Busbee) Barrett of Stanton, Bucky Barrett of Selma; two brothers, Donald Barrett Sr. of Selma, Jimmy Barrett of Prattville; sister, Dorothy Simpkins of Selma; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5–8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at Alpine Baptist Church with the Rev. Rod Rochester officiating.

Interment will follow in Alpine Baptist Cemetery in Plantersville.
