Melissa Dale Popwell Ray, age 43 of Jemison, passed away on Nov. 4, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in Chilton County on May 1, 1969, the daughter of the late Grady Popwell and the late Sherry Boswell Popwell.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: husband, Frankie Ray of Jemison; son, Jeffrey Ray of Jemison; Sister, Kim Popwell of Wetumpka; sister, Teresa Dennis of Jemison; sister, Dana (Billy) Culp of Clanton; brother-in-law, Roger (Teresa) Ray of Clanton; brother-in-law, James William (Mary) Ray of Thorsby; brother-in-law, Ricky (Carol) Ray of Jemison; niece, Tonya (Kenny) Jones of Chelsea; and niece, Alida (Justin) Daniel of Jemison.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 5–8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. George Creel, the Rev. Jeff Mims and the Rev. Kelvin Smitherman officiating.

Burial will follow in Posey Cemetery in Jemison.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
