Mustangs fall short at Montgomery Academy

Isabella fell at Montgomery Academy on Friday, 28-18.

The Mustangs (3-6 overall, 1-6 in Class 2A, Region 5) scored at the beginning of the fourth quarter on a Tyler Smith pass to Trey Calfee that cut the Montgomery Academy (4-5, 3-4) lead to nine points, but IHS would get no closer.

Mason Pate scored Isabella’s first touchdown on a 1-yard run, and Smith also scored on a 1-yard run for Isabella, with less than 1 minute to play in the game.

The score was 21-6 Academy at the half.
