Fletcher Larry Brown

Fletcher Larry Brown, age 63, of Clanton died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1948, in Valley. He graduated from Auburn University with a master’s degree. He was the type of person who never met a stranger.

He was a loving father, a lifelong educator, and for the past eight years, he taught at-risk youth in the SPAN program in Clanton.

Surviving are his daughter, Tonya M. Brown (Tracy Vaughn) of Valley; fiancée Sonya Norman of Clanton; sister, Bonnie Rose of South Carolina; aunt Ann Robertson of Dadeville; and co-workers and close friends, Betty Tidwell and Cindy Windham.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Duffee.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Memorial services at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley will be at 2 p.m.
