Floyd Frank Barbee

Floyd Frank Barbee Sr., age 89 of Thorsby, passed away on Oct. 19, 2012, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

He was born in Cullman County on Nov. 26, 1922, the son of the late Robert Harold Barbee and the late Delphia McAnnally Barbee.

He was a welder. He retired from Alpha Portland Cement Company. He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by: wife, Pauline Barbee of Thorsby; daughter, Wilda Dean Dutton of Gardendale; daughter, Glenda Fields of Thorsby; son, Floyd F. “Stoney” Barbee Jr. of Thorsby; son, Robert Harold Barbee of Clanton; daughter, Barbara Abney of Kimberly; daughter, Linda Moore of Gardendale; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Swane Barbee of Cullman; and sister, Opelia Graves of Hanceville.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Dutton.

Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Church at Bethel in Thorsby.

Funeral services follow ed at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.

Burial with military honors followed in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
