Four second half fumbles by the Thorsby Rebels proved costly in a 28-20 loss to the Montevallo Bulldogs on the road Friday.

The Rebels took a 20-14 lead in at the half when Nathan Oldroyd connected with Bradley Evans for a 21-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Montevallo evened the game with their first drive of the third quarter.

Thorsby fumbled the ball on their next three possessions, but Montevallo was unable to take advantage until late in the fourth quarter. The Rebels fumbled on their first play from scrimmage for the third time in the half to give the Bulldogs the ball at the 1-yard line.

Montevallo’s Ronezz Stevens capitalized for Montevallo with a touchdown on the ensuing play, then converted on the two-point conversion to seal up the 28-20 victory.
