J.E. Easterling

J.E. Easterling, age 71 of Gardendale and formerly of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 17, 2012, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

He was born in Chilton County on Feb. 28, 1941, the son of the late Kimmie Easterling and Mable Yeager Easterling.

He retired as head of the water department with the city of Clanton.

He is survived by: wife, Barbara Easterling of Gardendale; daughter, Pam (Chris) Blocker of Gardendale; son, Ricky (Denise) Easterling of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren: April, Tyler, Breanna and Cassidy Dooley; sister, Joyce E. Bates of Clanton; and sister-in-law, Dean C. Easterling of Bessemer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. from Providence Baptist Church No. 2 with the Rev. Evie Meggison officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Providence Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery Fund.
