Rebels routed by Midfield

The Midfield Patriots from the beginning dominated the football field Friday night against the Thorsby Rebels to win 56-6.

Thorsby’s football team lost its sixth straight game, resulting in the Rebels dropping to 1-6 overall and 0-5 in region play.

The only score by the Rebels came in the first quarter when Darius Davis intercepted a pass and returned it 52 yards in the first quarter.

However, the Patriots offense and defense constantly moved the ball in their favor.

For the Rebels, senior Nathan Oldroyd rushed five times for 16 yards, and completed 5-of-10 passes.

Senior Nolan Hayes had seven rushing attempts for 62 yards.

Leading tackler Dalton Turner had nine tackles, Brady Garrigus had seven tackles and Bobby Watley had six tackles.

Due to the loss on Friday night, the Rebels are eliminated from playoff contention.
