Elizabeth E. Bennett, 95, of Clanton died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at her residence in Clanton.

She was born on Saturday, July 28, 1917, in Shelby County, daughter of the late Jasper William Roy and the late Claudie Nunnley Roy.

She was a retired restaurant cook.

Surviving are two sons, Gene (Janice) Bennett of Adairsville, Ga., Robert (Vicki) Bennett of Thorsby; three daughters, Patricia Staggs of Jemison, Lois (Kirby) Belk of Jemison, Lera Langston of Jemison; special grandson, Brian Belk of Clanton; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.B. Bennett; parents, Jasper and Claudie Roy; six sisters and four brothers.

Friends were received from 10–11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 1, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Martin Chapel with the Rev. Keith Edwards and the Rev. Bobby Simmons officiating.

Interment followed in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.

The family requests no flowers. Make memorials to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
