Bears win second straight in region

Billingsley won at Sunshine. 38-14, on Friday behind three rushing touchdowns from Terrance Nolen and 230 all-purpose yards from Torrey Green.

After a scoreless first quarter, Billingsley (2-2 overall, 2-1 region) took the lead on a 19-yard pass from Thomas Nichols to Green. Nichols connected with Denzel Callens for the 2-point conversion.

In the third quarter, Nolen scored on runs of 2 yards, 2 yards and 1 yard, giving the Bears a 30-8 lead going into the final period of play.

Tyler McLean recorded a sack in the Sunshine end zone for a safety, and then Green returned the ensuing free kick back 60 yards for a touchdown.

Rashaud Caver rushed 12 times for 80 yards, and Nolen had 58 yards rushing on eight carries.

Nichols finished 12-of-22 passing for 206 yards, and Green caught five of those passes for 98 yards.

Nolen led the defense with 12 tackles. Both Jayterious Steele and Callens had interceptions.
