SUSANA HERNANDEZ GLASSCOCK, age 54 of Jemison, passed away on August 31, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Cuba on December 2, 1957; the daughter of the late Jose Hernandez and the late Angela Fleites Hernandez.

Susy retired as an educator after 25 years of service in Chilton County. She was currently the supervisor of Summer Classics in Montevallo.

She is survived by: Husband, Billy Joe Glasscock of Jemison; Daughter, Angie Glasscock (John) Ray of Alabaster; Daughter, Penny Glasscocock (Billy) Branch of Jemison; Son, Derek Joseph (Jessica) Glasscock of Thorsby; Grandchildren: Chad (Shonda) Ray, Teela (Jack) Ray, Alex Ray, Caley Branch, Cooper Branch, and Mason Glasscock; Great Grandchild, Eli Ray; and Sister, Conchita (Barry) Hicks of Alabaster.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 5-7pm at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 2:00pm from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison and Rev. Jason Rothe officiating.

Burial will follow in the Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Susy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
