Joshua Adam Smith, 22, of Pelham died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

He was born on Monday, July 23, 1990, in Birmingham, son of the late Jimmy Dale Smith and Linda Cuzzort Coogan.

He was a communication service technician.

Surviving are his mother, Linda (Daniel) Coogan of Pelham; brother, Matthew Allen Smith of Pelham; stepbrother, David (Jamie) Coogan of Tuscaloosa; grandmother, Lavelle Coogan of Montgomery; and a host of other loving family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Smith; grandmother, Ruby Baird; grandfather, Dewey Baird; grandmother, Louise Cuzzort; and grandfather, Bill Cuzzort.

Too soon, the world has lost an exceptionally benevolent young son, brother and friend. His kind and loving soul will never be replaced.

Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Atkerson officiating.

Interment will follow in Antioch Methodist Cemetery in Maplesville.
