Rebels’ last-gasp drive stalls

Published 11:52pm Friday, September 7, 2012

Thorsby’s chance at a game-winning touchdown drive Friday ended with minutes left to play on a turnover on downs in Tarrant territory.

The Rebels fell on the road, 19-14, in their first region game of the season.

The score was tied, 7-7, at halftime after a touchdown run by Thorsby quarterback Braden McRae.

Tarrant took a 13-7 lead, but the Rebels answered and went up 14-13 on a McRae pass to B.B. Evans.

Dalton Turner was good on both point-after tries for THS.

Tarrant scored again with about 9 minutes left to play, and Thorsby could never find the end zone again.

The Rebels (1-1) host Central-Coosa next week in another region contest.
