Rebels earn first volleyball win

Thorsby picked up its first volleyball win of the season on Aug. 30, 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-15) over Maplesville.

Braiden Gottier had 11 aces in the match, Sabrina Ellison had 10 aces and Devin Padgett had nine aces.

The Rebels started the season on Aug. 24 with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 25-5) loss to Sylacauga. Kaitlyn Langston had seven aces in that match.

Then came losses to Montevallo (3-1: 25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 25-12) on Aug. 27 and to Isabella.

Jackie Holcomb had seven aces and Langston had five aces against Montevallo, while Ellison had five aces in the Isabella match.
